Since I’m an IT guy, I’ll start my blogging career with Hello, World! post. When I’m learning new programing language (AngularJS being the last one), first program that I write is always Hello, World! program. It’s used to verify that both language and the system are operating properly. So, my first post here will be about some my blog beginning. As you can see, I have actually wrote a bunch of WordPress Pages that are visible in menus and this is my first WordPress post. I have never worked with WordPress before and I started writing pages in August 2014. Menus were confusing at the beginning, but now I think I have a firm grasp of WordPress.
So, since this blog is dedicated to Superfoods and my weight loss journey, you can read about Superfoods in Superfoods and Superfoods Diet sections and about my weight loss journey in the About section. I won’t repeat that information here. Those pages are there to stay, but they’re not all the info I have about Superfoods, there will be much much more!!
There will be a section about blogging, setting up blog and such stuff because everyone that knows that I’m starting a blog has tons of questions about how complicated is it and how to start a blog.
There is already a section about eBooks that I wrote and one of them is FREE!! Check it out, sign up for my free newsletter and I’ll do my best to send you every few days some useful info about Superfoods, weight loss or some Superfoods recipe. That free book should give you heads up info about Superfoods and why are they important in todays world of processed food.
There will be also a section with my Superfoods recipes. This blog was actually supposed to be a Food Blog and it was envisioned as a Superfoods Food Blog at the beginning, but then I realized that my weight loss experience (and my sons ADHD experience) is so valuable that I have to include it in the form of Blog, eBooks and Newsletter. There might be some other type of Superfoods and weight loss info later (audio book?, podcast?, online course?, videos?, forum?), but I’ll wait and see if there is interest in something like that.
So, my next few posts will be about pillars of Superfoods Diet and those are fiber loaded salads with lean protein, breakfasts recipes, Superfoods snacks and some cooked quick and simple Superfoods meals.
I didn’t exercised much during my weight loss period, besides body weight trainings every second day and some walking. To be frank, I did bodyweight training (push-ups, squats, plank, dips and few other exercises) only because I felt back pain after few weeks of skipping exercises and because I didn’t wanted to feel stiff (and old J). And I liked the tension that my body gets from stretching and exercising in the morning.
But when I reached 180 lbs. in June 2014, I looked at myself and noticed 2 things. First, I have lost lots of muscle mass and second, I still have some lower belly fat. So, I decided to start some more advanced home based high intensity trainings and try to recover some of the muscle mass I had in the last century J and maybe to lose my belly fat. That would be first time in my life that I’m getting a chance to see my abs. They’re there, I can feel them under fat, but I want to push myself and try to lose that final bit of belly fat. High intensity training that I have in mind is some sort of kettlebells training that I have been reading about recently. Apparently, these trainings are short (up to 20 minutes), very intensive, combination of strength, cardio and stretching. That sounds perfect for me since I don’t have much time and I don’t want to go to the gym. So, below are my picture before my first training that is about to happen today. All I can see are some side abs (because fat has already receided from that area) and some low belly fat. It will be challenging, but I have decided to give it a try.
